2010.12.22 16/12/10 - Resit
Thank to a special consideration, I am doing to resit an exam tomorrow.
I still don't know what to do as I am slow at my studies.
I hope I won't make the same mistakes.

To help me remember, I will write down some of the useful words or structures I will use tomorrow.
1) Introduce the 3 texts
→ Three recent studies (sb, ...) have examined...
Although three different perspectives are presented, the authors concur that...
Sb ( ) assess ~ whereas Sb ( ) examines... (or Sb focuses on ...)
All three texts lend much to the understanding of ...

2) Intro first text/ summarize it/ evaluation

3) Identify the weakness/ explain this weakness/ evaluation

4) Introduce the other 2 texts and how they treat that weakness/ evaluation

5) Identify the gaps in all the texts / recommend further research
→ All three articles, however, fail to consider the influences that .... might have.
This is relevant to both A and B, and therefore could be the subject of further investigation

☆ reporting verbs + etc...
report, notice, identify, indicate, depict, argue, assess, examine, see, point out

For me, it is very difficult to summarize each text,
and to relate it to each statement (issue) and the original question.
It is also hard to find weakness and evaluate each text.

It is 3.5 hours long...
I will try my best

Here are some new phrase(s) that I have come across in daily life.
1. freckle (on TV)
= a small, pale brown spot on a person's skin, especially on their face, caused by the sun
2. prone (in a newspaper)
= likely to duffer from sth or to do sth bad
3. intrepid (in a newpaper)
= very brave, not afraid of danger or difficulties

If you read this diary, please click on three buttons below. Thanx!!
