Today is Chinese New Year.
Happy New Year to all my chinese friends.

I went to my friend's room to drink beer last night, watching the night view from the 36th story.
It was a million-dollar view.
I envy him.
I watched many Chinese people get together in China town to celebrate the Eve,
but there were not any big events.

I had not known that before I came here
because Japanese people don't use the Chinese luner calender.
However, other Asian countries such as Korean and Vietnamese people use it.
I don't know why the Japanese don't.

flipbook[1] (from google)

I heard that there are some events such as a parade on the 6th and dragon board races on the 13th.
I will go to see them

Here are some new phrase(s) that I have come across in daily life.
1. petty (in a newspaper)
= small and unimportant
2. granny (in a newspaper)
= grandmother
3. stick around (on TV)
= to stay in a place, waiting for sth to happend or for sb to arrive
