2011.02.16 05/02/11 - 41 ℃
Today, Sydney reached 41.0 degrees Celsius, which is
the highest temperature this summer so far.
It was like a free sauna bath. Lucky haha

When I woke up, I felt tired and weary.
I thought it was because I had a language exchange for a long time yesterday.
But I was wrong.

When I went outside, the wind was very warm, which was like the heater.
The sunshine was strong and I felt like it was pricking my skin.
It was a bit humid and uncomfortable.

Although a year or two ago, we had a 40 degree in Kyoto,
it is usually around 35 degrees in the summer.
So the weather today was tiring both mentally and physically.

Here are some new phrase(s) that I have come across in daily life.
1. drag one's heels/ feet (in a newspaper)
= to be deliberately slow in doing sth or in making a decision
2. snippet (in a newspaper)
= a short piece of a conversation, piece of music, etc
3. pop-eyed (in a newspaper)
= having bulging or staring eyes.
