How did you spend today
Did you have a good time
It seems to me that there are some single parties in Sydney.

It's not a special day for international students,
unless they have boyfriends or girlfriends.
In my case, I don't know many people living here
and school has not started yet.
It's OK for me, but some events sometimes make me feel futile.

When I worked at a high school in Japan,
St. Valentine's Day was good for me.
Since many female students made a lot of sweets, many gave me some.
It sounds like I am very popular. haha

As some people know, women usually give something such as sweets or stuff to men on this day,
and women exchange what they made among themselves too.
Interestingly, more and more women buy something expensive
such as clothes and accessorries as well as sweets for themselves.
But it is not the other way around.
It is because we have White Day on the 14th of March, when men give something back to women.
Does this cultural difference sounds interesting to you

Here are some new phrase(s) that I have come across in daily life.
1. intestine (in a newspaper)
= a long tube in the body between the stomach and the anus
2. bemoan (in a newspaper)
= to complain or say that you are not happy about sth
3. snappy (in a newspaper)
= attractive and fashionable
