In Japan, we don't usually have many opportunities to talk in front of others in class.
So it is difficult for us (of course, not all of us....some of us) to speak English in that kind of situation.
I think many Japanese don't like speaking and making mistakes in front of other Japanese.
Some Japanese prefer talking with native speakers.

However, in some English speaking countries if we don't speak in class, we are regarded as being ignorant. Not only speaking English itself but adaptability in different situations is required for some Japanese.
I am not good at speaking even Japanese in class, so I often find my face looks stern when I speak English in this kind of situation.
I really want to get used to this kind of situation and handle English without a forced smile!!

Here are new phrase(s) that I have come upon in daily life.
1. snoop (in a newspaper)
= a person who looks around a place secretly to find out private thing about sb
2. twitter (on TV)
= (of a bird) make a series of light tremulous sounds
