Since I was so lazy and hadn't reviewed what I learned during the orientation period,
Let me tell you about the subjects I enroled in Autumn, which may make you sick.

I took four subjects and each subject is worth 6 credits
in addition to the subject that I wrote about yesterday.
Compared to that of credits in Japanese universities, the number of credits is double.
It means we only have to take half as many subjects.
So I feel that studying at universities in Australia wastes money.

1. Research Perspectives
This is a compulsory subject.
This subject helps students develop research practices and processes,
which are critical for readers of research

2. Phonology and Pronunciation
This subject explores theoretical and practical perspectives
on the teaching of pronunciation within a functional approach to language.

3. Theory and Practice of Teaching English to Speakers of other Languages
This subject explores the theories and practices of English language teaching
in contemporary society and critically examines the theoretical assumptions
that underpin various approaches to TESOL (teaching English for speakers of other languages).

4. Technology Enhanced Language Learning
This subject provides students with the initial computing and multimedia competencies
applicable to the teaching and learning of language.

Some of them sound boring, don't they

When I checked some books of the books I am going to use,
I found that some were very boring since they were not practical.
I chose this university since I heard that it was relatively practical, not just theoretical.
I hope I will be able to learn something which helps me improve my teaching skills.

Here are some new phrase(s) that I have come across in daily life.
1. quintessential (on TV)
= representing the most perfect or typical example
2. funny bone (on TV)
= the part of the elbow containing a very sensitive nerve that is painful if you hit it against sth
3. chicken pox (on TV)
= a disease, especially of children, that causes a slight fever and many spots on the skin
