I bought two textbooks today.
Those texts were photocopied versions so I did not have to pay a lot of money.
Lucky me!

Textbooks are usually expensive,
and some books used at university, especially thick books, cost more than $100.
Fortunately, the books which I bought were only $20 each since they are just copies.
But since those books are composed of parts of many books, I have to read a lot.

I read some at night and I couldn't concentrate on doing it
since I have not gotten used to reading books.
I could read and understand some parts,
but if I am asked some questions about the contents tomorrow, I won't be able to answer them.
A lecturer at orientation recommended us to read first
and then write what we understand from the reading in our own words.
It would be good to enhance our understanding.
I was really convinced upon hearing about this method,
but it would be difficult to put it into practice.
Do you know any other good ways to solve my problem

Tomorrow I am going to attend the first lesson and will be overwhelmed by it. haha

Here are some new phrase(s) that I have come across in daily life.
1. off-key (in a newspaper)
= not suitable or correct in a particular situation
2. rate (in a newspaper)
= to think that sb/sth is good
3. bring sth up (in a newspaper)
= to mention a subject or start to talk about it

If you read this diary, please click on the three buttons below. Thanx!!
