Today is my ○○th birthday.
I cannot remember my age any more since time goes by faster every year.
I feel upset since my personality has not caught up with my age.
So I try to act more mature for my age.
I am still 20 years old in my mind though. haha
I'm trying to experience new things in Sydney without becoming conservative.

My roommate bought us some beer and we drank last night,
but I spent my day working on my first assignment and attending a class at university.
I have to finish it in a week so I cannot enjoy enjoy my birthday to my heart's content.
It is OK with me because this is my choice, and this is what I want to do.
Even so, I feel very stressed at times.
Anyway, I want to make the best out of my life here in Sydney.

I would like to say "thank you" to my family and friends who sent me messages and supported me,
otherwise I would not have become who I am now.
Since I have a chance to reflect on my own life as well as the people around me,
I feel that birthdays are significant

Here are some new phrase(s) that I have come across in daily life.
1. gratification (in a newspaper)
= the state of feeling pleasure when sth goes well for you or when your desires are satisfied
2. trump (in a newspaper)
= to beat sth that sb says or does by saying or doing sth even better
3. pram (in a newspaper)
= a four-wheeled carriage for a baby, pushed by a person on foot
