It was Father's day two days ago.
In Australia, Father's day is in september.

A memory of my father is that there has been a 5 year silence between us.
I was part of the school's baseball club and practised my swings every day.
He tried to teach me one day, but I stopped him.
I was a rebellious age and did not like being told what to do by someone.
I rejected his advice and did not talk to him for 5 years.

My mother told me that since he worked for us,
I needed to greet him at least saying things like "good morning" and "good night".
I agreed with her, so I greeted him every day.
We did not talk any more than that.
When I remember how things were then, I think it was crazy...
Don't you think so?
So now I'd like to take care of my parents more to make up for the event in the past.

Anyway, there is a funny prank below.
Take a look!!

Here are some new phrase(s) that I have come across in daily life.

1. fringe benefit (in a newspaper)
= extra things that an employer gives you as well as your wages
2. skimp (in a newspaper)
= to try to spend less time money, etc, on sth than is really needed
3. hop off (in a newspaper)
= news
