The third subject is called 'Grammar and the Construction of Meaning'.

'Grammar and the Construction of Meaning'
According to the subject description, 'this subject explores the functional organisation of grammar and how it creates meaning both through the
classification of our physical, social and psychological worlds, as well as
through the dynamics of negotiating and maintaining social and interpersonal relationships.'

It's a long explanation, isn't it

I thought this subject was interesting because the functional grammar includes the idea of traditional grammar, but it regards grammar as systems with patterns and rules as functions.

I also thought that this would be the easiest one,
but today's lesson changed my mind. haha
In fuctional grammar, they use different technical terminology compared to traditional grammar.

This semester is going to be a really hard time for me.

Here are some new phrase(s) that I have come across in daily life.

1. kerb (in a newspaper)
= a stone edging to a pavement or raised path
2. cache (in a newspaper)
= a hidden store of things such as weapons
3. contract (in a newspaper)
= to get an illness

If you read this diary, please click on the white button and the black button. Thanx!!
