My teacher talked about the beauty of academic learning.
(It was a long time ago, so I will write what I remember.)

She told us that we tends to make a barrier against reading or listening to academic things
by nature ,
but if we manage to take it away to understand them deeply, we feel it more interestingly.

In terms of academic reading, we need to think about the meaning
and how it connects with our daily experiences.
Once we read a part of a passage, we need to get out of the academic world
and think about what it really means.
After we get a meaning or meanings from our experience,
we need to bring it into the academic world again.

This is because academic theories are too abstract until we apply them to our own experiences.
When we can do that, we can relate to them and learn from them.

As we continue to read, we feel more interested in
and become more attracted by the passage.
She said "feel it!".

This is the beauty of academic learning?! haha

Here are some new phrase(s) that I have come across in daily life.
1. So true! (in class)
= you are right there
2. Oh come on! (in class)
= I'm not sure about that
