I got another take-home exam.
It was way more difficult than a practice test.
My teacher was like, 'You have the same kind of questions.'
Thus, I thought it was going to be very easy and that I could finish it in a day,
but actually it's not.
I can understand my former students' feelings when they re given an unreasonable assignment. haha

Here is my assignment for the subject 'Grammar and the Construction of Meaning'

Weighting: 40%
Due: 29 September
Task: Clause analysis for Mood
The sentences may consist of one or more ranking clauses.
You need to analyze the Mood and Residue structure of each ranking clause in the sentence.
Put each ranking clause on a separate line.
You do not need to analyse the internal structure of any embedded clauses.

e.g. 'I couldn’t say anything because her husband was in earshot.'

I (Subject, Mood)
couldn’t (Finite ‘modality’, Mood)
say (Predicator, Residue)
anything (Complement, Residue)...

Here are some new phrase(s) that I have come across in daily life.

1. copter (in a newspaper)
= helicopter
2. appy (in a newspaper)
=
3. cred (in a newspaper)
= credibility
