Since the main teacher is absent for the first three days this week,
the proctor is going to teach us instead.
Yesterday, the new teacher explained each sentence thoroughly
so that we could understand
but I wonder if this helps me with my studies in university.
The main teacher said to us, "you never have to read word by word
and you have to get the main idea in each paragragh quickly.

The teaching style of the new teacher is totally different from that of the main teacher.
Today we had to present the summary of each paragragh.

Anyway, I had a discussion with two classmates (a Chinese and a Korean).
Tutorial Participation is assessed at 5% of my final grade.
We talked about the extent of exposure to the western media in your country.
Since we found a lot of differences, we could enjoy talking.
So we were supposed to discuss for 40 minutes,
but we kept talking for more than 50 - 60 minutes.
I feel this activity helps us improve our speaking ability since we are required to speak
more than one sentence.
At the same time, we can learn different cultures.

Here are some new phrase(s) that I have come across in daily life.
1. riff (on TV)
= a short repeated pattern of notes in popular music or jazz
2. stick to one's gun (on TV)
= refuse to compromise or change, despite criticism

If you read this diary, please press both the tree and the pink button below. Thanx!!
