There was a small community meeting in my area, Redfern.
At Redfern, a lot of Aboriginal people live after they were pushed into the district.
The area is one of poverty.
I heard that there used to be some riots involving robbery, attacks, and destruction.
So, some shops still have bars on their windows, and people usually think it is a dangerous place.
I am interested in the area because it has a historical background.

I expected it to be as an event, but actually it was a report about their recent activity.
Some people from the government and a professional AFL player came, too.
The purpose was to promote the area with their merchandise such as T-shirts and caps,
In addition, it was an ad about the area as a new business.
Every time I was asked what I am doing in Sydney, I found I was out of place.

Anyway, Redfern is getting better and less dangerous.
In fact, they are going to take away the bars.
If you come to Sydney, please drop by Redfern and have a coffee, which contributes to their community.

Here are some new phrase(s) that I have come across in daily life.
