There are many companies that will help you send your stuff from Australia to Japan.
You can choose shipping or air mail.

For shipping, I haven't tried it but there is a company called 'Pack & Send.'
http://www.packsend.com.au/

For air mail,
I've checked three different services.

1. Post Office
I heard that it's quite cheap to send stuff under 10 kg.
However, it turned out to be expensive.

2. OCS - Oversea Courier Service
You can choose from three types of boxes:
S box (up to 5 kg) - $50, M box (As much as you can fit inside) - $130, L box (up to 25 kg) - $170

You can also choose to send your suitcase, which costs $170 for up to 25 kg.
If you send more than one package, the price becomes cheaper. (e.g. $300 for 2)
However, when I called them, their correspondence was really bad.
So I didn't choose them.

3. Cube it!
The system and the price are almost the same as OCS, but I chose this company.

I sent my carrying case and chose cash on delivery.
It cost 16,000 yen for 30 kg.
My stuff weighed 33 kg and they charged 600 yen per 1 kg.
You can send up to 40 kg.
If your stuff is heavy, it's better to use this service.

Here are some new phrase(s) that I have come across in daily life.
