I flew to Melbourne from Sydney this morning,
but it was full of frustrating obstacles.

I went to the domestic airport first.
I was sure I knew where I was talking off from,
but it turns out I was in the wrong place.
At that point, there was only an hour and a half left before my flight took off.
I caught a train and went to the international airport in a hurry.

When I checked my baggage, it was 6 kg over.
I had to pay an extra $90 for it.
My flight cost only $85 and I felt this was really ridiculous.
However, I had only 30 minutes left and could not afford to move my stuff.

I finished the check-in process in despair and moved to the inspection.
There I got held up just because I left coins in my bag.
I wasted more time again.
My boarding gate was the furthest away and I was not able to check out any duty-free stuff.

Finally, when I hopped on the plane, it was just 10 minutes before it left.
I made it by the skin of my teeth.

My story isn't over yet.
When I tried to meet with my friend at the Melbourne airport, I was waiting at a pick-up place outside.
But we couldn't see each other.
That was because there were two different levels for pick-ups.

Anyway I am thankful that I got to Melbourne OK.

Here are some new phrase(s) that I have come across in daily life.

1. (in a newspaper)
