Me and my friend hit the road down to Great Ocean Road.
This is going to be my last trip in Australia.
We passed a small town called Lorne and stayed overnight at his friend's house at Wye.

She has her own house surrounded by nature.
For example, I saw some koalas on the trees.
On the terrace, some birds got up on my hand so I fed them by hand directly.
I like kookaburras because they look cute like toys.
In particular, I like how they eat meat.
They seem to be like national birds.

The birds in the second picture are Rosellas.
I think they are some sort of parrot.
When they are hungry, they come to the benches close to the windows
and call us in order to get some food.

The third birds is Cockatoos.
They are very noisy and gnaw houses.
So we had to shoo them away.

Anyway, I envy her since she lives in the area's abundant natural surroundings.
We are heading for Twelve Apostles tomorrow.

Let me show you the night scenes in the city.
I was not able to take a picture, but the night view from the bridge to Southbank was awesome.

The first picture is the Morell Bridge.
It was built across the Yarra.
Actually, my friend's relative worked on it.
It was lit up at night.

The second picture is the CBD, taken from the bank across the Yarra River.
It shows you the concrete and glass towers of modern Melbourne.

The third picture is the Victoria Arts Centre.
It is used for multiple purposes, like as a theatre or as a concert hall.

The fourth picture is a scene on the street.
I took this interesting picture by chance, so I threw it in for you.

For Melburnians,
If any of this info was wrong, lemme know.

Although I felt sick, I was able to eat meals as usual.
The problem is that my eating habits have suddenly changed.
I did not eat much in Sydney while studying.

I came to Melbourne to travel so I eat out every day.
As a result, I gained two or three kilograms in the last ten days.
I can tell from my belly without a scale. haha

I went to a Vietnamese place in Richmond for dinner.
Richmond is one of the three Vietnamese suburbs here.
They use fish sauce, which has a strong smell and I don't like it on its own.
However, when it is mixed with food, it's very good.
I think Vegemite in Australia is something like that.
I am wondering if we have a similar Japanese dish.
Miso might be one.

I felt sick this morning.
However, I went to the beach 'St. Kilda' to relax and sunbathe.
After that, I moved on to the city, but I had no energy to walk around.
So I came back home and took a long nap.

On my way back home, I had trouble in finding the right tram.
My friend has taken me to many different places and explained many things around here before,
so I thought I had learned my way around here.
But when I acted on my own, I had difficulty in finding my way.
I feel that sometimes we need to fail at something
in order to learn something new from that experience.

In the evening, we went to a Chinese place to eat congees and scallops.
It was very delicious and I prefer Chinese congee to 'Okayu' in Japan.
It was hidden on a narrow street, so even the locals might not know the place.
So I guess information from friends is also important.

My friend took me to the east coast of Melbourne.
It was a nice drive along the coast from St. Kilda and Elwood to Mordialloc,
which is a part of a bay.
As you can see from the pictures, the ocean view and the sunset were really beautiful
and I saw many people living in the houses along the ocean
or enjoying themselves at the beach.

Melbourne is the first place to introduce the 8 hour work day in the world.
They go home around 5 p.m. and get free time for themselves to enjoy.
In their spare time people go surfing, sailing, fishing, flying, spend time relaxing at home,
eating and drinking, which gives them their energy for the following day.
I think it is very important to enjoy living in the moment like they do,
but actually our society won't allow us to spend time like this easily.
Their lives are very different from ours.

Although our society makes us very busy, we shouldn't forget
that we should make use of each moment of our own time by relaxing,
pursuing our own interests, and sharing time with people around us.
